Community / charter

You can block a member from their profile. Blocking cuts off all contact: you can no longer see or interact with each other, and some existing links are cleaned up (mutual favorites, forum follows, participation in each other's events). It is not possible to block an administrator. You can find and unblock your blocked members in the settings.
The list of your blocked members is accessible from your settings. You can unblock a member there, or use the block button on their profile, which acts as a toggle (block / unblock depending on the current status). Once unblocked, interactions become possible again.
Hiding is a gentler option than blocking: it removes a member from your lists so you no longer see them, without the complete cutoff or link cleanup that blocking entails. It's a setting on your side only: the hidden person is not notified and continues to see you normally. To cut the link in both directions, use blocking instead. As with blocking, you cannot hide an administrator, the action works as a toggle (hide / unhide), and you can find the list of your hidden members in your settings.
The "Super Atypiker" badge celebrates members who truly bring the community to life every day: those who organize, participate, exchange, and animate the forums. You get it automatically when your recent engagement is high, and you keep it as long as you remain active (the status is valid for about a month, extended as long as activity is maintained). To prevent it from flickering, we don't remove it at the slightest dip. Its loss happens silently, without notification, and it returns as soon as you re-engage.
The "Happy to Chat" badge indicates that a member is responsive to the first messages they receive. Specifically, it is displayed for members who respond to the vast majority of first messages they receive, once they have received enough to be evaluated (otherwise no badge, and no penalty). The badge is silently removed after a long period of inactivity and automatically reappears upon reconnection if the rule is still met. It is independent of Super Atypiker status.
You can add a member to your favorites from their profile. When a like is mutual, it becomes a match. In your "connections" area, you'll find the likes you've sent, those you've received, and your mutual matches, as well as your profile visitors. Non-premium members have a limited number of likes per day; beyond that, a message will invite you to go premium.
Have your initial conversations on Atypikoo, where you can remain anonymous and block or report someone with a single click. Be wary of anyone who wants to switch to another messaging app too quickly, refuses all calls, or has an overly smooth discourse. Before meeting: take the time to chat, make at least one audio or video call, choose a public place, inform a friend or family member, and plan a way to get home. Never make a bank transfer or share your bank details.
The search page (the member directory) relies on the location saved in your profile: if your GPS coordinates are missing, you will be prompted to complete your location before accessing it. You can filter by type of encounter sought (friendship, love, professional), by gender sought (men, women, other), by age range (18 to 100 years by default), by distance, by country and city, by orientation, by personality type (MBTI), by keywords, as well as by options such as "with photo", favorites, or members never seen. Your criteria are stored in a cookie for 30 days so you can find them again on your next visit. Results are paginated (32 members per page).
The Affinities page ranks up to 300 active, visible profiles according to the personality traits you share. By default, the ranking searches the entire community. Premium members can also limit it to their country or within 100 km. Every member can see their first 12 affinities for free, including names and photos. Premium unlocks the rest of the ranking, the search areas and pagination in batches of 24. The ranking may contain fewer than 300 profiles when there are not enough active members who share at least one trait with you.
Affinity is an internal score out of 100 used to order profiles on the Affinities page. It is based only on the personality traits provided by both members: their relative overlap measures similarity, while the number of traits actually shared strengthens the reliability of the result. Age, orientation, relationship goals, distance, languages and lifestyle do not change this score; they remain contextual information and can be used as search criteria. We do not display the raw percentage on profiles: the interface uses simple levels because a meeting cannot be reduced to a number.
No. The age gap does not change the affinity score, which is based only on shared personality traits. Age remains visible on profiles and available as a search criterion, so everyone can decide whether it is relevant to the kind of connection they are looking for.
Your feed gathers activity relevant to you: posts from forums you follow, events near you (based on your location, within a radius of about 50 km, or those you are participating in or have participated in), activity from your favorites, as well as public articles and news. The feed does not go back beyond 90 days and is sorted from newest to oldest. Content from members you have blocked (or who have blocked you) is excluded. For premium members, some additional activity around events (new participants, expressions of interest) is also visible. The feed loads by pages and refreshes dynamically when new activities arrive.
The professional directory lists practitioners (psychologists, therapists, etc.) referenced in the atypical universe. You can search for them by country, city, profession, areas of expertise, keywords, certification, online consultation, and distance. Each professional profile presents the practitioner, their profession, location, areas of expertise, and contact information, and only appears publicly once verified. Members can recommend a professional and leave a star-rated review; the average rating and number of reviews are displayed on the profile. The number of views for each profile is counted.
You can submit your application via the professional directory registration form (waiting list): the profile is then created awaiting verification and is not yet publicly visible. Direct creation and editing of profiles are reserved for the Atypikoo team, who validate and publish the profile. If you wish to have your profile removed, the pro statistics emails contain a secure link "Delete my pro profile" which notifies the team. For any request, contact support via notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
The Atypiker score reflects your recent engagement in the community, over a rolling window of the last few weeks: your influence (Atypicoeurs received from distinct members), the events you organize or join, your forum posts, your active reciprocal conversations, and the regularity of your connections. As the window rolls, the status reflects your current activity, not your cumulative history. It's a recognition of those who keep the community alive here and now. The most engaged members may appear in the "Super Atypikers of the moment" showcases. The status is recalculated every night.
The "Super Atypikers of the Moment" page showcases particularly active members, organized by area of engagement (community, events, forum, messaging). The display order is slightly shuffled with each visit to vary the spotlight, and blocked accounts are excluded. It is no longer a fixed numbered ranking: it's a selection based on Super Atypiker status, which covers a recent activity time window.
“My Atypical Profile” is a free test that maps how you function using 16 atypical personality types. Its result can be shared: a dedicated page generates an image optimized for social media, with its own title and description. This test helps explain how you function, but it is not used to calculate affinities between members. The affinity ranking is based only on declared personality traits.
Yes, each member has an activity feed viewable from their profile, which lists their visible activities, from most recent to oldest. The initial load is accessible to all members; to scroll beyond the first page (pagination), a premium subscription is required. If you have blocked the member (or they have blocked you), their feed is not accessible.
From the forums section, you can create a topic by entering a title and a description. Upon creation, you automatically join the topic and follow it in your feed. Each new topic is subject to human validation by the team before publication on the forums: this validation may be assisted by an AI tool that only produces a compliance opinion and a sensitivity index, but the final decision (publication, pending, refusal) is always made by a person (GDPR art. 22).
By default, topics are public: the title and the first post can be publicly visible and referenced by search engines (always with the pseudonym and a non-photographic avatar, never the real first name or profile picture). Premium members can activate the "private topic" option on certain topics: the topic is then not indexed by search engines and is only visible to logged-in members. Without activating this option, the topic remains public.
Replies to a topic are reserved for logged-in members. To post, your profile must be validated; an empty message is refused, and a message detected as spam by the anti-spam filter is blocked. When you post in a topic, you automatically start following it in your feed. Messages are displayed in chronological order.
You can comment on a post in a forum, an event, a professional review, or a publication. The comment will be rejected if it's empty or caught by the anti-spam filter. In a closed forum, only administrators can comment. When you comment in a forum, you automatically start following that forum. You can then edit or delete your own comments.
Yes. You can edit the content of your own comments (an administrator can also do so). Deletion is possible by the comment's author or by an administrator. The owner of the parent topic/event cannot delete another member's comment: if they find it bothersome, they can report it and moderation will handle the request. A non-administrator member cannot delete an administrator's comment. When a comment is deleted, any reports associated with that comment are also deleted.
The ♡ button allows you to highlight a particularly useful or constructive message. This is distinct from reporting (the “…” button). Content appreciated by the community gains visibility and recognition, a simple way to value exchanges that feel good.
Atypikoo publishes articles (news) categorized by category and language. Only published articles are visible; some may be scheduled for later publication. Logged-in members can comment on a published article. Like all community content, an article comment can be reported and may display "Content hidden by moderation" if it exceeds the reporting threshold.

Moderation

Use the “…” button on the content: it opens the reporting form where you choose a reason (corresponding to the charter categories) and specify the context. You can attach up to 5 files (images or PDFs, max 5 MB each). Reporting is reserved for behaviors prohibited by the charter: it is not for expressing a simple disagreement of opinion. You cannot report the same content twice, nor report an administrator.
The reasons offered for content/members are: inappropriate or offensive behavior; hate speech or discrimination; toxic or manipulative person; harassment or intimidation; fraudulent profile or identity theft; spread of false information; suspicion of illegal activity; cultic or ideological drift; suicidal intentions or severe psychological distress; advertising or commercial solicitations; and "Other issue." Specific reasons exist for events (no-show, disruptive behavior, inappropriate content, misleading event).
The reporting form allows you to target a member (the "user" entity) and offers to block them in the same action. If you check the block option, the member is added to your block list and removed from your common events. Profile reports never trigger an automatic ban: they alert the team, who examines and decides humanly (GDPR art. 22). In case of persistent tension, the charter recommends using "Block" or writing to support: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
The report is sent to the moderation team by email and reviewed by a person as quickly as possible, depending on the volume received and the severity. Each report is reviewed by a person; some priority internal reports are processed faster. The team may hear both parties in the event of cross-reports. No sanction is pronounced exclusively automatically: AI tools are only used to detect, prioritize, or analyze.
Measures are graduated and proportionate. For forum content, escalation follows steps based on an alert counter: first a simple alert (warning email, no restrictions), then, in case of recurrence, temporary restrictions on the ability to publish, of increasing duration, up to a permanent publishing restriction (equivalent to a forum ban). Each step triggers a reasoned notification, and the measure can be contested with support.
An escalation on content is only considered beyond a significant volume of validated reports, never on a single report. The community's appreciation of the content (positive reactions) is also taken into account: content that is clearly appreciated is not sanctioned solely on the basis of a few reports. Reports for "suicidal intentions" never result in a sanction: they trigger a support mechanism, not a punitive measure.
Content (message, comment, article comment) that receives a significant number of validated reports may be automatically hidden pending human review: when the same content is heavily reported, it is replaced by "Content hidden by moderation" for members. The hiding is visible on the feed; the content is not deleted. Administrators continue to see the original content. The author can dispute the measure at any time with support.
There are two distinct displays. "Content hidden by moderation" appears automatically when content receives a significant number of reports, awaiting human review. "This message has been moderated in accordance with the charter (see charter)" corresponds to a decision made by an administrator: the content is then replaced by this placeholder which links to the Forum Charter. In both cases, the original content is preserved (for audit, reversibility) and the measure can be reversed.
No. No significant restrictive measure (content removal, restriction, suspension, banning) is pronounced exclusively by automated processing (GDPR art. 22). Automated tools, including AI, can help detect, classify, or prioritize a report, and produce a compliance opinion when a topic is created, but the final decision always rests with a human team member. The AI's opinion has no decision-making value.
Yes. In accordance with Article 17 of the DSA, any unfavorable decision (removal/restriction of content, restriction of access to a feature, suspension, ban) is subject to a reasoned notification specifying: the type of decision and its geographical and temporal scope; the facts and circumstances, with relevant content excerpts; the rules invoked (charter, ToU, law); the possible use of automated means (knowing that no sanction is exclusively automated); and the avenues of appeal.
You can request a review by writing to support: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com). Attach any useful information (context, observations, factual elements); Atypikoo will review the request in good faith, within a reasonable timeframe. A message masking or a refused/pending topic can also be appealed in the same way, and you can propose a revised version. In case of a favorable review, the measure will be lifted and, if applicable, the account restored as far as technically possible.
Beyond requesting a re-examination from support (notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com)), you have two external options: consumer mediation for disputes related to paid offers (Premium), in accordance with Article L.612-1 of the Consumer Code; and judicial recourse before the competent courts. These options are mentioned in the reasoned notification sent under Article 17 of the DSA.
Specifically targeted are: harm to individuals (insults, personal attacks, harassment, hateful or discriminatory remarks, threats); harm to community safety (fake profiles, impersonation, undue influence/recruitment, circumventing sanctions); advertising, solicitations, and proselytism; disinformation clearly dangerous to health or safety; privacy violations (doxxing); illegal content; and harm to the service's operation (bots, flooding, multiple accounts). However, frankness, a minority opinion, or a strong disagreement are not, in themselves, grounds for sanction.
In principle, banning is only a last resort, after a graduated approach (warning, then suspension, then banning in case of repeat offense). However, some serious cases justify an immediate ban without prior warning: child pornography or glorification of terrorism, explicit death threats or threats of violence, proven identity theft, payment fraud, clear circumvention of a previous ban, proven doxxing, dissemination of intimate images without consent (including deepfakes), incitement to suicide targeting a member, or coordinated mob harassment.
The reason "suicidal intentions or severe psychological distress" does not trigger any sanctions against the person concerned. Atypikoo may, as a courtesy and without obligation, send the person a help message inviting them to contact specialized resources (notably 3114 in France). This system is experimental, confidential, and may be interrupted without notice. In case of emergency, immediately contact emergency services (15, 18, 112) or 3114. For a clear danger, send the link/screenshot via notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com) mentioning "urgent".
Yes, for organizational reasons: moderators can move or merge a topic (inappropriate section, obvious duplicate). In this case, the content is not modified, and the author is informed. In case of a breach, the team can also lock, move, or remove a topic, modify/delete content, or add context (note, link to a reliable source). These measures follow the principle of proportionality and are subject to a reasoned notification when they are unfavorable.
In the event of a ban, the member's public posts on the forums are automatically hidden from other members as soon as the decision is made. This measure protects the community against the post-ban exploitation of information that may have been included (contact details, external references). Detailed terms (database retention, durations, restoration in case of decision reversal) are set out in the GTC (art. 12.3.3) and the Privacy Policy (section 12.6).
Reporting must remain proportionate: it is reserved for behaviors prohibited by the charter, not for expressing a disagreement. In case of repeated or clearly misused abuse, and after written and reasoned notification to the member concerned, their future reports may no longer be taken into account. This decision can itself be appealed. Furthermore, the same content can only be reported once per member.

Premium / billing

The Premium subscription is offered for several durations (1, 3, 6, and 12 months, as well as a lifetime plan). The longer the chosen duration, the more advantageous the monthly rate; the exact current price is displayed on the Premium page.
First, a promise: with us, you pay by membership, not by frustration. Premium doesn't unlock a restricted free version; it expands your experience and supports the community. Specifically, it adds: expanded messaging (monthly limit of new conversations raised, see dedicated FAQ), anonymous browsing (incognito mode), invisible mode, ability to hide your online status and recent activity (Offline Mode), detailed and real-time display of other members' activity (the free version only has an approximate overview), sending photos in messages, and profile boost ("Featured" / Spotlight via the bump-up button). Core functions (creating a profile, browsing the community, liking, receiving Matchikoo, writing to any Premium member, replying without limit to any received conversation) remain free. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Incognito mode (anonymous browsing) allows you to view profiles without leaving a trace of your visit: when activated, your visits will not appear in the visitor list. This option is reserved for Premium members and can be activated and deactivated at any time from your Premium settings. Upon activation, visit notifications already received by visitors are marked as viewed. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Invisible mode is a Premium option that reduces your exposure in the app. You can activate or deactivate it whenever you want from your Premium settings. It is a separate setting from incognito mode and hiding your online status: you can activate each one separately. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Yes, as a Premium member you can hide your "online" status: other members will not see when you are connected. This setting is found in your Premium settings and can be freely activated or deactivated, independently of incognito and invisible modes. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
The display of member activity ("online", last seen) depends on your subscription. With a free membership, you get an approximate indication: "online today", "online this month", and nothing beyond 30 days of inactivity. With Premium, you see the details: real-time "online" status, and a precise last seen for less recent members ("2 months ago", "1 year ago"), which is useful for knowing if a profile is still active before writing to them. And because we also respect the need to take a break, Offline Mode (Premium) allows you to be discreet: your comings and goings are no longer displayed, neither your "online" status nor your "Last seen online". For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Sending photos directly in a conversation is one of the conveniences available with Premium: once subscribed, you can add a photo via the photo add button in the conversation window. This is one of the options that free members do not have, just like expanded messaging or contacting former Matchikoo beyond 7 days. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Premium messaging is not "unlimited" but offers a high monthly limit for new conversations, much higher than the free version. For mobile subscriptions and certain types, this monthly limit is set to a high cap, far beyond typical usage. This limit only applies to starting new conversations: replying to an already received conversation remains unlimited, for life, whether Premium or free. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Atypikoo offers several commitment durations: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months, as well as a lifetime plan. The longer the duration, the more advantageous the monthly cost. The precise availability of plans may vary depending on the period and promotions displayed on the Premium page. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Fixed-term subscriptions (1, 3, 6, 12 months) are renewable: when they expire, they automatically renew for a new period, unless you have canceled before the renewal date. The lifetime plan is a one-time purchase with no renewal. You can manage your renewal at any time; for any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Canceling stops automatic renewal, but never removes access before the end of the period already paid for: you remain Premium until the expiration date, then the account reverts to free without a new charge. In other words, cancellation cuts off renewal, not the current period. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
For subscriptions purchased by card (Stripe) or PayPal, cancellation is done from the subscription management area accessible in your account (billing portal). For subscriptions purchased via the mobile application (in-app purchase), management and cancellation are done directly from your App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Android) account. If you encounter any difficulties: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
A refund terminates Premium access: unlike a simple cancellation, a refund cuts off access immediately (the Premium end date is brought back to the time of the refund and the subscription is marked as refunded). To request or understand a refund, contact notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
On the website, payment is made by credit card via Stripe or via PayPal. On the mobile app, the subscription goes through in-app purchases managed via Adapty (App Store for Apple, Google Play for Android). Renewal and refund management depends on the channel used to subscribe. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Every profile benefits from a "Featured" boost, especially upon registration. What Premium adds is the ability to reactivate this boost on demand: by pressing the rise up button, your profile returns to the top of the "Featured" results, sorted by the most recent boost date. Once boosted, your profile remains eligible for "Featured" display for approximately 3 months. Boosting is not unlimited: you can reactivate it about once a month (you must wait for the delay before being able to relaunch the boost). For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
The "Featured" boost reactivates approximately once a month: between two boosts, a delay of about one month must pass before you can press the button again. If you try before then, a message will tell you to wait. The first highlight is automatically triggered upon validation of your profile/subscription, then you remain in control to reactivate it at the allowed pace. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
After a boost, your profile remains eligible to be displayed in "Featured" for approximately 3 months: after this period without a new boost, it will no longer be highlighted (but will, of course, remain visible in the rest of the search results). The "Featured" ranking prioritizes profiles that have been boosted most recently. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
For free, you can create your profile, browse the entire community, like, receive Matchikoo, write directly to any Premium member, contact your Matchikoo within the free window, initiate up to 3 new Matchikoo conversations per month, reply without any limits to all received conversations, and see members' approximate activity ("online today / this month"). Premium adds comforts to go further: expanded messaging (monthly limit for new conversations raised), contacting old Matchikoo beyond 7 days, sending photos in messages, detailed and real-time member activity, hiding your online status and recent activity (Offline Mode), anonymous/incognito browsing, invisible mode, and the "Featured" boost. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Yes, Atypikoo offers gift subscriptions (gift vouchers) for eligible plans. After purchase, an activation code is generated (with a downloadable gift PDF) that the recipient activates from their account. If the person is already Premium at the time of activation, they can keep the code and use it later. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Premium activation normally synchronizes automatically after payment (Stripe return or Adapty webhook for mobile). If your benefits don't appear after a few minutes, please check that you are logged into the account used for the purchase, then refresh the subscription page. If the problem persists, contact notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com) specifying the payment method used.

Events

No. Any registered member can create an event, whether on a free or premium plan; no subscription is required. Organizing real-life meetups near you is at the heart of Atypikoo, not a paid option: you can create as many as you wish.
There is no limit to the number of events you can create, whether you have a free or premium plan. Create as many as you want to keep the community around you vibrant.
Yes, but the "private" option is reserved for Premium members. If you request a private event without being Premium, the creation is refused (error 403 "You must be Premium to create a private event"). A private event is saved with "private" visibility: it does not appear in the public search engine and is only visible to invited people. Without Premium, your event remains with "visible" (public) visibility.
Events with a professional or commercial purpose require "pro event" credits. You can only create one if you have remaining credits; otherwise, creation is refused. Each published pro event consumes one credit. These events must be clearly identified as professional and fall under the Pro GTC.
Yes, when modifying an event, you can change a non-Pro event to a Pro event, provided you have Pro event credits available. If you don't have any, the modification will be refused. Changing from non-Pro to Pro consumes one credit. If the event was already Pro, no new credit is spent.
Participating in an event is free and open to all members: no premium subscription is required to join an event or express interest. If an event is full, premium members can be placed on a waiting list and automatically registered as soon as a spot becomes available, while non-premium members receive the message "Event full". For some paid events, payment is either handled by Atypikoo (via Stripe) or directly by the organizer.
An event can be online or in-person. If it's online, no address is required. If it's in-person, a location is mandatory: without a location, creation is refused. The address is verified and localized before saving, to prevent an event without a valid location.
Yes. For an in-person event, you must indicate a precise location (bar, restaurant, park, museum, etc.) with the necessary information to get there. The address is automatically verified and localized. However, avoid publishing personal contact details (phone, home address, private email) on the event page.
The start date and time are mandatory. The end date is optional; if you enter it (end date or time), it must be after the start. If an end time is specified, it must be strictly after the start time; without an end time, an end on the same day is accepted. An end before or equal to the start is refused.
You can search for events using filters: event type, free text, country, city, as well as pro and ambassador filters. The search is paginated. Private events do not appear in public searches: only visible events are listed there.
Yes, and that's kind of the heart of Atypikoo: meeting up in real life, close to home. The list of nearby events shows you in-person gatherings around you, from the closest to the furthest, sorted by date (past, canceled, or events from members you've blocked are not included). You can find it in the Events section, which is based on your location.
Only the event creator (or an administrator) can cancel it. Canceling does not delete the event: it marks it as canceled and automatically notifies participants. An event that has already been canceled cannot be canceled again. Please remember to notify participants sufficiently in advance if you cancel.
Permanent deletion is only possible by the creator (when the event has no other members than them) or by an administrator. It also deletes related participations, posts, comments, activities, and notifications. If members have joined the event, you cannot delete it: instead, use cancellation, which keeps the event and notifies participants.
Yes. An event is considered archived once its date has passed (beyond the day after the end date, or failing that, the day after the start date). For an archived event, you can no longer join, declare yourself interested, or publish a post (response 403 "This event is archived"). Archived events are also excluded from nearby event lists.
To post in an event's feed, you must be a member (have joined the event); a pending status is not enough. Other members are notified of new posts. No posts can be made on an archived event.
Yes, inviting your favorites to an event is a feature reserved for premium members. You can select the favorites to invite; those already members or already invited are ignored, and each invitee receives a notification. Duplicate filtering is still handled server-side.
Our events are first and foremost welcoming spaces where you don't have to over-adapt or play a role, and that's the whole point of getting together with other atypical individuals. Specifically, the Event Charter asks participants to be courteous to others and to the organizer, to respect reasonable instructions (venue, times, practical rules), and to unregister without justification if they cannot attend. Capturing or sharing images of other participants without their consent is prohibited, and any therapeutic service provided by a non-professional member is strictly prohibited. Everyone participates at their own risk and must be covered by their civil liability insurance.
In case of inappropriate behavior, discomfort, discriminatory remarks, or an attempt to exert control during an event, report the incident without delay. You can report an event directly from the application (the report then targets the event organizer; you cannot report your own event and your profile must be validated). For any other difficulties, contact notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
In case of a medical incident, the immediate response is to alert emergency services (911 in the US) without delay and stay with the person. Atypikoo does not coordinate on-site emergency response, but we are here for what follows: to report an issue related to the event or its organizer, write to us at notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com) and we will take over.
When an event has reached its maximum capacity, premium members are placed on a waiting list: they are automatically registered as soon as a spot becomes available, with the longest-waiting member being promoted first and notified. Non-premium members see the message "Event full". Interested premium members can also be notified by email when a spot becomes available.

Messaging

A single reminder is sent to you approximately 24 hours before the free window of a Matchikoo you haven't yet contacted expires, so you don't miss it. No reminder is sent if a conversation has already begun.
No. Unlike swipe apps, it is not necessary to match to initiate contact with a Premium member. Matchikoo is mainly useful for contacting another free member for free.
No. Each month resets to the full quota, regardless of the previous month: unused contacts do not accumulate.
You write to them directly, no strings attached: no match to wait for, no quota to use up.
You like the profile; if the person likes you back, it's a Matchikoo and you receive a notification; you then have the free window to write to them, within the limit of your monthly quota of free conversations; once the conversation has started, messages are unlimited.
No. You can reply freely, as much as you want, for as long as the conversation exists, without any limits.
Liking a profile means adding it to your favorites: a one-way signal of interest. As long as the person hasn't liked you back, it is NOT a match and does not open any particular messaging. The number of likes is limited: up to 10 per day and 60 per month.
A Matchikoo is a match: it happens when two members have mutually added each other to their favorites (two reciprocal likes). A one-way like is never enough. Technically, as soon as at least two likes exist between the two of you (one in each direction), the Matchikoo is formed and you both receive a notification.
Yes. You can write directly to a Premium member, without having matched, without a time limit, and without using up your Matchikoo quota. This is intentional: the Premium community remains accessible to free members. On the code side, as soon as the sender OR the recipient is Premium and there are messages available, sending is authorized.
Each Matchikoo can be contacted for free for 7 days after the match is created. This window starts the moment the second like creates reciprocity. After this period, writing to this match requires upgrading to Premium. The goal is to seize the momentum of the connection while it's fresh.
As a free member, you can initiate up to new conversations per month with your Matchikoo. This quota automatically resets on the 1st of each month and does not carry over. It only applies to new conversations with free matches; writing to a Premium member does not consume it.
Yes, always and without limit. As soon as a conversation already exists between you (regardless of who initiated it and when), you can continue it freely: no monthly quota, no 7-day window. The code systematically allows sending when a conversation is already open. The paywall never intrudes on a started conversation.
As a Premium member, you can write to any member (matched or not, former Matchikoo beyond 7 days or not), without time windows or monthly match quotas. You benefit from a high monthly limit of new conversations, well above the free version. You can also send photo and audio messages.
This is an anti-spam protection. As long as the other person hasn't replied to you at least once, you cannot send an indefinite number of messages: beyond 3 consecutive messages without a reply, sending is blocked with the message "You can write again after this member replies". As soon as the person replies, you can write freely again.
This message (reason no_match) appears when you try to write to a free member with whom you don't have a match (no reciprocal likes), and neither of you is Premium. To unblock: add the person to your favorites so that a Matchikoo can form if they like you back, or go Premium to write to them directly.
This message means that the Matchikoo still exists, but it is more than 7 days old, outside the free window. Liking the same person again does not open a new window: the match date is set when it is formed. However, all is not lost: writing to a Premium member is always free, and each match with a new person opens a new free window for you. Finally, if you want to reconnect with old Matchikoo beyond 7 days, that is one of the comforts that Premium offers.
This message appears when you have a valid match within the 7-day window, but you have already used your new match conversations for the month. The counter resets on the 1st of next month. To write without waiting or limits, go Premium.
Sending photos in messages is reserved for Premium members (sending to an admin/support account remains possible). For free accounts, the attempt is refused. Images are automatically optimized and securely stored before being delivered in the conversation.
Sending voice (audio) messages is reserved for Premium members: a free member cannot send them, but they can absolutely receive and listen to those sent to them. The only exception: any member, even a free one, can send a voice message to an admin/support account. A voice message is a short message, securely stored and delivered in the conversation in real time. Voice often makes an exchange feel more real, a natural extension of the authenticity we seek here.
Some profiles are AI conversational assistants (bots). They are clearly identified as AI assistants. When you write to them, they reply automatically, and these exchanges do not consume your match conversation quota.
Yes. A discreet reminder is sent 24 hours before the free window of an uncontacted Matchikoo expires. This reminder is only sent if both likes still exist and no message has yet been exchanged between the two of you. Only one reminder, no spam.
Before sending, the system checks a few basic conditions: the message must not be empty, the recipient must still exist, and it must not be an account with which exchange is impossible. If any of these conditions fail, the message is rejected with an explicit error. Please check the content of your message and ensure the profile is still active.
Deletion is unilateral: it only removes the message or conversation from your side, not from your interlocutor's side. This is useful if you sent something by mistake: the associated notification on the recipient's side can also be removed.
The read receipt ("seen" status) is linked to the Premium status of the member concerned: it is displayed for Premium members. For free members, read information is not exposed in the same way. "Delivered" / "Read" statuses are updated in real-time via instant messaging.
In certain developing geographical areas, a temporary local opening may allow two free members from the same area to initiate a few conversations per month without a match, under certain conditions (validated profile, main photo, recipient available). This feature is temporary, governed by a monthly and daily quota, and can be deactivated at any time: do not count on it as a permanent right.
This message only concerns areas where one-time local opening is active. It means that you were eligible to write to a free member in your area without a match, but you have exhausted your monthly local quota. The counter resets on the 1st of the month, or go Premium to write without limits. This option remains temporary and may be deactivated.
If your last initiated conversations have not received any response, a kind reminder email may be sent to you (approximately 24 hours later) to suggest adjusting your approach. This is a helping hand, not a penalty. If you need support, contact us via notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
This message appears when the recipient's account is no longer able to receive messages (e.g., account blocked/unavailable). This is not a quota limit: the conversation is simply not possible with this account. If you think this is an error, contact support via notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
The principle: the free version is a real tool, not a restricted demo. Here, you pay by membership, not by frustration. With the free version, you create your profile, browse the community, like, participate in forums and real-life events near you (friendship and IRL encounters count as much as love here), write freely to any Premium member, contact your Matchikoo within the free 7-day window (up to new match conversations per month), and reply without limit to any received conversation. Premium doesn't unlock a restricted free version: it adds comfort and reach to go further. Only messaging initiated between two free members, outside the window and quota, requires Premium.

Account

Yes. Couples have formed through the free version. Premium is a comfort that speeds up and broadens the experience, not a condition of access.
You must be at least 18 years old to register on Atypikoo. Upon registration, your date of birth is checked: if it indicates an age below the minimum required, the account cannot be created. This limit applies to everyone, without exception.
Registration is done by providing a username, a valid email address, a password, your first name, your gender, your date of birth, and your city. Your email and username must be unique (they must not already be in use). Once registered, you will be guided through an onboarding step to complete your profile before you can fully access the community.
Your password must contain at least 8 characters, with at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, one number, and one special character. Preferably choose a long, unique, and hard-to-guess password, and do not reuse it from another site.
A confirmation link is sent to you by email after registration. If you haven't received it, you can request a new one via the resend confirmation link feature (enter your email address). Remember to check your spam folder.
Choose a clear, well-lit, and recent photo that truly represents you, where your face is visible. Opt for a positive expression and stay natural, without filters. Avoid: group photos, DIY montages, photos of your children, sunglasses and hats, excessive selfies, and any suggestive or inappropriate photos. Ideally, publish at least three photos (portrait, full-body, in motion).
Yes, you can switch a photo to "private" from your photo management. A private photo is not displayed publicly. Two limitations: your main photo cannot be made private, and if a photo's visibility has been locked by moderation, you can no longer modify it yourself. Setting a photo as your main photo automatically makes it public.
Your profile receives a completion score out of 100, which measures what has been filled in. The profile picture accounts for a quarter of the score; the rest is distributed among the description, date of birth, city, your search preference, the 'How are you atypical?' field, the type of encounter, your personality traits, your MBTI, and having a verified profile. The more complete your profile is, the more it is highlighted and the more contacts you receive.
In addition to your first name, username, gender, date of birth, country, city, and languages, you can fill in many fields: the text "How are you atypical?" (at least 65 characters), what you are looking for, your interests, your relationship status, your profession, your education, your skills and training, your website, your height and body type, smoking habits, your relationship with children, the type of encounter you seek, your sexuality, your MBTI, as well as personality traits (tags).
You can select up to 30 personality traits ("aspects") to refine what makes you atypical. Beyond 30, a message will inform you and the selection will not be saved. Choose those that truly represent you: they help other members recognize you.
You can edit your information from your profile settings. Some fields have rules: the first name and username must follow a specific format (at least 3 characters, no emojis, and certain words are not allowed), the username must remain unique, and the text "How are you atypical?" must be at least 65 characters long. Changing your city automatically recalculates your location.
You can change your password and email address from your account settings. An email change requires confirmation. If you have forgotten your password, use the "forgot password" function: you will receive a password reset link by email (with a limited duration).
You can request to delete your account from your settings. Deletion is not immediate: it is scheduled and effective after a 24-hour delay, which gives you a withdrawal period. A "standby" option also exists if you only want to make your profile temporarily inaccessible without deleting everything.
Yes. From the dedicated data section in your settings, you can request an archive of your personal data. The archive is generated, and then a download link is sent to you by email. The download is done via a secure link specific to your account.
Atypikoo will never ask for your password or banking information via email. Never share your password, even with someone claiming to be from support. If you receive a suspicious email asking for your Atypikoo or banking credentials, do not reply and report it to the support address indicated in our security tips. Also, beware of money requests and unexpected links.
You can adjust your email notification preferences from your account settings. Emails also include a one-click unsubscribe link in their footer, which allows you to stop a category of emails without even logging in.
Every email sent contains a link to your email preferences in the footer. This page is accessible even without logging in, thanks to a secure link (signed token) specific to your account: you choose the categories of emails you wish to receive or not, and your choices are saved to your account. Emails also offer the one-click unsubscribe button integrated by Gmail and Yahoo, which immediately removes you from the relevant category. You can also modify these preferences from your account settings.
From your own profile, the “Analyze my profile” button launches an AI-assisted analysis: it examines your photos, your self-description, and the overall consistency of your profile, then sends you an email with a score and concrete suggestions for improvement. Each account is entitled to a maximum of 3 analyses in total: this is a lifetime cap for the account, not a monthly quota, and there is no reset. Non-premium members are entitled to only one analysis; to launch others (up to 3 in total), a premium subscription is required. The analysis is free (no credits are consumed) and there is no waiting period between two analyses as long as the cap is not reached. By launching the analysis, you agree that your profile information and photos will be processed by our AI provider, in compliance with our privacy policy (which specifies the retention periods for analysis results).
The site is available in French, English, and Spanish. You can change the language using the language selector; your choice is stored in a cookie valid for one year, and if you are logged in, it is also saved to your profile. After changing, you will remain on the current page (with the URL adapted to the language). Only active or beta languages are selectable. French is the default language.
For free, you can initiate up to 3 new Matchikoo conversations per month (with members with whom Matchikoo has been triggered). This quota resets on the 1st of each month and does not carry over. Important: writing to a Premium member does not count towards this quota, and replying to a received conversation is always free and unlimited. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
Each Matchikoo remains contactable for free for 7 days from the moment the match is triggered (the second like that creates reciprocity). Beyond this window, contacting an older Matchikoo requires a Premium subscription; however, if the person is Premium, you can always write to them directly without any conditions. For any questions: notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).

Technical

The bell displays a badge as long as you have unseen notifications. As soon as you open the notifications page, all your notifications are marked as seen (the badge disappears), but those that were unread when you arrived remain highlighted during your visit so you can spot them. Notifications are paginated (20 per page) and filterable by category. For example, you receive a notification when a member writes you a message; if several unread messages accumulate from the same sender, they are grouped into a single notification "so-and-so wrote you N messages". Notifications older than 6 months are automatically purged.
In addition to the bell icon, the site regularly queries the server to detect new notifications and display a preview (toast) of the most recent one, as well as a counter of unread notifications. The bell also allows you to preview your latest notifications (up to 5) without leaving the current page. You can mark an individual notification as read.
You can contact the Atypikoo team via the internal ticketing system: from your space, open a ticket describing your request and follow the responses directly in the ticket thread (you can reply to it and attach files). If you are not logged in, guest access via a secure link also allows you to view and reply to a ticket. For any help request, use notre système de support (ouverture d'un ticket depuis le site ou l'application, ou e-mail à help02@atypikoo.com).
